Become a Professional M&W Transportation Truck Driver

Looking for the truck driving job of your dreams? Look no further.

Quite simply: driving a truck for M&W Transportation is a rewarding career choice.

M&W offers an industry-leading combination of benefits and compensation. Not only are our drivers home on the weekends, but our truckers also enjoy medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; 401K retirement plans; fitness memberships; paid vacation; as well as bonuses and safe rider policies.

Our family-owned company is small enough to treat you like part of the family but big enough to provide excellent benefits.

Driver Tim Dykes loves his job: “Love the place. Trucks are good, miles are good, pay is good. I get treated with respect and everyone knows my name. You don’t have to go through a bunch of hoops when you talk to someone on the phone. Most of the time, they know your voice. I also appreciate how the whole staff talks with you and gets to know you better. You can really tell that M&W is invested in their drivers.”

“How do I become an M&W truck driver,” you ask? If you’re looking for a truck driving job, we just might have the right position for you! Step 1: Obtain Your Commercial Driver’s Licence (CDL)

It’s really quite simple, there’s nothing much to it. Just grab a copy of of the Tennessee CDL Manual online, or visit the Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security in person at 1150 Foster Avenue in Nashville, TN.

Study up! Then, pass the written exam and the skills test. Finally, apply for your CDL through Driver Services. Be sure to bring a valid DOT Medical Card, proof of your Social Security Number, a valid state driver’s license or CDL from another state, proof of TN residency, and proof of US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status.

We strongly encourage all candidates to attend a truck driver’s training school in Tennessee before attempting to pass your test. This will build your confidence and boost your safety credentials. Step 2: Be Experienced, Safe, Healthy, and Local

M&W prides itself on excellent drivers and excellent service. Because of our commitment to excellence, we require that our drivers be experienced and dedicated. To join our team, drivers be at least 23 years of age and possess two years of recent verifiable tractor-trailer experience.

We also expect our drivers will have no license suspensions for moving violations within the last three years, no more than three moving violations in the last three years (no more than two in the last 12 months), and no more than one preventable accident in the last three years.

Finally, M&W Transportation drivers must live within the service area (Midwest and Southeast) and pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen. We believe that working for M&W isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle. We understand and respect the dedication that’s required to live your life behind the wheel, which is why we created our “Homeward Bound” promise, and it’s why we make sure you’re home on the weekends. It’s our goal to foster a happy, healthy team of professional tractor-trailer drivers.
