Everything you Need to Know to Become a Professional M&W Truck Driver

Ask any driver working for M&W Transportation, and they’ll tell you the same thing: We value our drivers. That’s why we offer the best combination of working environment, equipment, compensation, and home time.

At M&W, we want the best drivers working for us, and we’re well aware that this means we need to create a desirable work environment that retains great employees. Fortunately, M&W Transportation is large enough to provide the top-quality benefits you’ll find at other large carriers. But we’re also small enough that we offer personalized care. You’ll find that our drivers, dispatchers, and all other employees are on a first name basis.

How Can You Become a Driver With M&W Transportation?

The first step to obtaining local truck driving jobs with M&W is to obtain your Commercial Driver’s License or CDL. All states have unique CDL courses, which any driver can take. Most last for about 7 weeks. From there, you’ll need to pass a specific course before receiving either a Class A or Class B license. Class A licenses have no weight restrictions. Class B licenses will only allow you to drive a truck over 10,000 lbs.

Once you become a driver, you can expect to make between $30,000 and $40,000 a year; however, you may be able to increase your annual salary to more than $80,000 in certain situations. It is also likely that you’ll receive a health care plan for you and your family.

With truck driving jobs, you can expect to stay on the road from 1 to 2 weeks at a time. We aim to get you home on weekends, and you’ll never be overworked at M&W. We also aim to honor as many time off requests as possible.
