M&W Transportation partners with Nashville Rescue Mission for Tracy Lawrence’s Mission Possible Turkey Fry

(Nashville, Tennessee) November 23rd, 2016 – Yesterday M&W Transportation Co. sponsored the Nashville Rescue Mission’s 11th annual “Mission Possible” Turkey Fry, lead by country singer Tracy Lawrence. Over the past 10 Thanksgivings, Lawrence and the Nashville Rescue Mission have used this holiday event to serve upwards of 65,000 meals to Nashville’s homeless community.

Last year, Lawrence introduced a new element to the Turkey Fry: a benefit concert. This show’s star-studded lineup of country acts did a lot to bolster donations for the Nashville Rescue Mission. Last night this tradition continued with the 2nd annual benefit concert where acts such as Big & Rich, Halfway To Hazard, and Jarrod Niemann shared a stage with Tracey Lawrence.

This is the 2nd consecutive year that M&W has been a sponsor of the “Mission Possible” Turkey Fry. When asked about the importance of sponsors like M&W, Lawrence responded, “It’s huge!” He went on to say, “This is not funded by any government program; this is all private donations that keep this thing rolling. This is one of the top 10 rescue missions in the entire country!” This is an event that is near to Tracy’s heart because his brother has struggled with homelessness in the past. “I’ve tried to hold onto that and not forget where I came from,” Tracy told us. “We are delighted to have M&W as a sponsor for this year’s Tracy Lawrence Turkey Fry,” said Rev. Glenn Cranfield, president and CEO of Nashville Rescue Mission. “This is their second year in joining us and we are so grateful for their continued support and partnership. It’s wonderful to have the local businesses and business leaders who are so willing to give back to those in need.”

M&W has considered it an enormous blessing to be involved with such an impactful event. “We have enormous respect for what the Nashville Rescue Mission does!” Said M&W communications director, Zack Pugh. “We take the responsibility that we have to our community very seriously, and we look forward to hiring graduates from Nashville Rescue Mission’s rehabilitation and job training programs to join the M&W team in the near future!” While Nashville residents hoping to get involved with the Turkey Fry will now have to wait until next Thanksgiving, it’s still possible to get involved with the Nashville Rescue Mission today!
